This containment boom has been specially designed to contain, trap and absorb oil spills on water bodies, where the current is not too strong, as this would lift the skirt. It can replace either a classic sorbent boom or a small floating boom to contain a spill. The boom is only sorbent on one side. The purpose of the other side is to contain the oil and to provide a certain solidity. Caution: when saturated, the boom may sink depending on the oil’s viscosity. During testing**, it was shown that the smaller the number of booms, the better the boom’s behaviour. Safety : This product is non-regulated, non-dangerous and chemically inert for flora and fauna, even if punctured. Storage : When soiled, booms are subject to the regulations in force locally and must be treated appropriately according to t he waste generated by their use: collection and incineration by specialized companies. The boom is packed in big bags, facilitating bo th its deployment and retrieval (waste bag). Non-regulated, non-dangerous product, chemically inert for fauna and flora, even in the event of a puncture. Please note that in order to tow the trawl, it is necessary to order the specific net frame for trawl or absorbant boom and t o turn the transverse thruster at 90°. In this configuration the Jellyfishbot has more power but can no longer move laterally. The orientation of the transverse thruster can be easily changed by the operator (requires removal of screws)
